The corrugated glue machine is also known as a glue applicator. It is an essential part of a corrugated board production line. This machine is installed between the corrugator bridge and the double backer.
AGICO PAPER’s corrugated glue machine applies adhesive evenly and accurately to the flute tips of single-face corrugated board. The glued board then enters the double facer. There, it is pressed and bonded with the liner to form strong, multi-layer corrugated board.
The glue unit works through four steps: glue feeding, glue metering, flute-tip gluing, and bonding. The machine controls glue delivery, application, and glue volume. The glue is applied evenly to the flute tips of single-face corrugated board.
Board feeding
The single-face corrugated board is fed in from the single facer and enters the glue unit. It first passes through the preheating roll. This adjusts the board’s moisture and temperature. It also helps the glue adhere evenly in the next step.
Glue Application
The hard chrome-plated anilox glue roll rotates through the glue pan and picks up glue. It spreads the glue across the roll surface. The roll gap controls the glue film thickness. You can adjust the gap by electric control with a digital display or by hand.
Flute-Tip Gluing
The glue roller contacts the single-face corrugated board and applies glue to the flute tips. The glue does not directly contact the flute valleys. A pneumatic lifting system works with a hold-down bar or pressure roller during gluing.
Board Merging and Bonding
The glued single-face corrugated board meets the liner. Both then enter the double facer and pass through its heating and pressing section. With heat and pressure, the glue cures and the paper layers bond together. This forms the finished corrugated board.
The glue roll runs in sync with the line speed. When the machine stops, it can run independently at a low speed.
