Semi-Automatic Corrugation Machine Overview

A semi-automatic corrugation machine is also called a semi-automatic corrugator line. This line is a group of machines used to produce corrugated board. Unlike a single-facer corrugation machine, this line includes several machines that work together to complete flute forming, gluing, and further processing. With the basic configuration, the line can produce single-face corrugated paper. You can add additional equipment to produce 3-ply single-wall corrugated board, depending on production needs.

Single facer machine for corrugated board production

Compared with a fully automatic corrugated board production line, the semi-automatic corrugation line offers more flexible equipment configurations. It is suitable for small and medium-sized carton factories, start-up businesses, and customers who want to produce their own corrugated board. During production, some steps still require manual operation, board handling, or operator control. Customers can choose a suitable configuration based on their factory space, production plans, and available workers.

AGICO PAPER provides different configurations of semi-automatic corrugation machines to help customers reduce their reliance on externally purchased corrugated board and better meet their own production needs.

AGICO PAPER Semi-Automatic Corrugation Machine for Sale

AGICO PAPER offers different configurations of semi-automatic corrugation machines. The basic configuration can produce single-face corrugated paper in rolls. If you need to produce 3-ply corrugated board but have a limited budget for a 3-ply corrugated board production line, you can choose a semi-automatic configuration with additional sheet collection, gluing, and laminating equipment. Different equipment combinations have different production processes. If you want to know more, AGICO PAPER is happy to help you.

Option 1: Single-Face Corrugated Paper Production

This configuration mainly consists of a mill roll stand, a single facer corrugation machine, and a rewinder. It produces single-face corrugated paper in rolls. The finished product consists of one layer of corrugated medium and one layer of linerboard. It is collected in rolls and can be used as material for further corrugated board production. The rewinder winds the continuously produced single-face corrugated paper into rolls for storage, transport, and further processing. This setup is suitable for production needs that require single-face corrugated paper in rolls.

Main Equipment and Functions

Mill Roll Stand: Holds the paper rolls and continuously feeds paper into the single-face corrugation machine.

Single Facer Corrugation Machine: Forms the corrugated medium into flutes and bonds it to one layer of linerboard.

Rewinder: Winds the finished single-face corrugated paper into rolls for storage and further use.

Option 2: 3-Ply Single-Wall Corrugated Board Production

If you want to produce 3-ply corrugated board without investing in a fully automatic corrugated board production line, you can add downstream equipment to the basic single-face corrugated paper production setup. Depending on the production process, this may include sheet collection, gluing, and laminating equipment. This configuration produces corrugated board with a 3-ply structure consisting of two linerboard layers and one corrugated medium layer. The finished board can then go through further carton converting processes, such as printing, slotting, and die cutting.

Main Equipment and Functions

Corrugated board sheet collection equipment

Mill Roll Stand: Supplies paper rolls for production.

Single Facer Corrugation Machine: Forms the flutes and bonds the corrugated medium to one layer of linerboard.

Sheet Stacker: Collects and stacks the single-face corrugated paper for easier handling and further processing.

Gluing Equipment: Applies adhesive to the required bonding surfaces.

Laminating Machine: Bonds single-face corrugated paper to another linerboard layer to form 3-ply corrugated board.

Stacked corrugated cardboard sheets

The exact equipment configuration depends on the production process. The appropriate equipment or production steps must also handle any required pressing, bonding, or drying functions.

Working Principle of Semi Automatic Corrugator Line

The paper roll is fed into the single-face corrugation machine through the mill roll stand. After the corrugated medium is heated and formed into flutes, it is bonded to one layer of linerboard to form single-face corrugated paper. Then, the rewinder winds the paper into rolls.

Production Process:

Paper Feeding Heating and Flute Forming Liner Bonding Rewinding

The single-face corrugation machine forms the corrugated medium into flutes and bonds it to one layer of linerboard to make single-face corrugated paper. For 3-ply single-wall corrugated board production, the rewinder is replaced with a sheet stacker, and additional gluing and laminating equipment is used. Another layer of linerboard is then bonded to the single-face corrugated paper to form 3-ply single-wall corrugated board. The finished board is collected and stacked.
