Laminate linerboard with corrugated board using manual top feeding and automatic bottom feeding.

Max. Sheet Width: 1600 mm

Machine Speed: Up to 90 m/min

Feeding Method: Manual Top / Auto Bottom

A semi-automatic flute laminator is a type of laminating machine based on the level of automation. This machine can laminate linerboard with corrugated board or single-face corrugated board. It laminates the two sheets through gluing, positioning, and pressing. Unlike an automatic flute laminator, AGICO PAPER's semi-automatic flute laminator requires more manual work during the feeding process. Depending on the equipment configuration, the linerboard and bottom sheet can use different feeding methods.

For applications, a semi-automatic flute laminator is suitable for small and medium-volume laminating orders. It is also suitable for corrugated box factories that do not need fully automatic production equipment. If the initial investment budget is limited or the factory does not have many laminating orders, a semi-automatic flute laminator is also worth considering.

As a professional supplier of corrugated machinery, AGICO PAPER offers semi-automatic flute laminators with different feeding methods. We can recommend suitable equipment configurations based on the customer's production needs, paper specifications, and budget.

Semi-Automatic Flute Laminating Machine For Sale

AGICO PAPER's semi-automatic flute laminators have standard and high-platform models. The standard type uses a regular feeding table and can meet basic laminating production needs. The high-platform type can be equipped with an automatic pile lifter, making it easier for operators to pick up paper and continue feeding. It also reduces the need for manual pile adjustments.

Standard semi-automatic flute laminator

Standard Semi-Automatic Flute Laminator

AGICO PAPER's standard semi-automatic flute laminator uses a low-platform structure. Its feeding table is lower than that of the high-platform type, making it easier for operators to load large or heavy sheets and reducing the lifting height.

This machine also works with our single facer and semi-automatic corrugated board production line. After the single-face corrugated paper produced by the front-end equipment is cut, it can be fed into the laminator and laminated with linerboard.

Features:

  • Low Feeding Height
  • Easy Manual Loading
High-platform semi-automatic flute laminator

High-Platform Semi-Automatic Flute Laminator

The high-platform semi-automatic flute laminator uses a high-platform, single-station structure. It can hold a larger stack of linerboard. Our machine can also be equipped with an automatic pile lifter as an option. It automatically adjusts the pile height during feeding, reducing the need for operators to repeatedly handle linerboard and adjust its picking position. If your factory has many laminating orders and needs manual feeding for long periods, this machine is a good option.

Features:

  • High Paper Stacking Capacity
  • Automatic Pile Lifting (Optional)

Advantages of Semi-Automatic Flute Laminators

Reduced Manual Feeding Work

AGICO PAPER's semi-automatic flute laminators use manual feeding for linerboard and automatic feeding for the bottom sheet. For models with an automatic tracking function, the machine can adjust bottom sheet feeding according to the manual feeding speed. Workers do not need to place the bottom sheet one by one, reducing manual feeding work.

Flexible Production Arrangement

Our semi-automatic flute laminators can process linerboard and corrugated board in different sizes. Within the machine's working range, the feeding and positioning positions can be adjusted according to order requirements. For laminating orders of different batch sizes, the factory can arrange production according to actual output needs without always running large batches continuously.

Lower Initial Investment

Compared with automatic flute laminators, semi-automatic machines usually require a lower initial investment. AGICO PAPER's semi-automatic flute laminators still have functions such as automatic bottom sheet feeding, gluing, and pressing. If a factory does not need fully automatic production equipment for now, it can choose a semi-automatic model to meet current production needs and control equipment investment.

Stable Laminating Quality

Although linerboard is fed manually, our machines still use positioning, gluing, and pressing mechanisms to complete the laminating process. The paper positioning and glue amount can be adjusted according to actual requirements. This helps reduce paper misalignment and uneven glue application, making laminating quality more stable.

Main Components of Semi-Automatic Flute Laminators

AGICO PAPER's semi-automatic flute laminators combine manual linerboard feeding with automatic bottom sheet feeding. While the operator feeds linerboard into the machine, it passes through bottom sheet feeding and positioning systems to align the two sheets and prepare them for laminating. The main components of a semi-automatic flute laminator include the following parts.

Manual linerboard feeding unit

Manual Linerboard Feeding Unit

The linerboard of a semi-automatic flute laminator is sent into the machine one by one from the feeding table by workers. The high-platform model can be equipped with an automatic pile lifter. As linerboard is continuously taken from the pile, the pile lifter slowly raises the stack. This allows workers to continue picking up and feeding paper at a suitable height.

Automatic bottom sheet feeder

Automatic Bottom Sheet Feeding Unit

The bottom sheet is automatically fed into the machine by a vacuum suction system. The machine uses servo tracking, a servo motor, and a PLC to control feeding. Even when the workers' feeding speed changes, the bottom sheet feeding can also be adjusted according to the feeding speed. This helps the two sheets work together during the laminating process.

Glue application metering roller

Front Lay Positioning

Our machine uses a front lay positioning system to control the relative positions of the linerboard and bottom sheet. The front lay allows adjustment of the linerboard's lead, preventing the front edge of the bottom sheet from extending beyond the linerboard. When changing to different paper sizes, the relative positions of the two sheets can be adjusted according to laminating requirements.

Glue Application and Circulation System

The glue application section is equipped with a metering roller. By properly controlling the linear speed of the metering roller, the machine ensures even glue application and reduces glue splashing during high-speed operation. The machine also has an automatic glue replenishment system and a glue circulation and recovery system.

Working Process of a Semi-Automatic Flute Laminator

The basic working principle of a semi-automatic flute laminator is to complete material feeding, positioning, and pressing through the cooperation of mechanical structures and the control system. Operators place the base material and linerboard in the specified positions. After the machine is started, it automatically completes the following alignment and laminating processes. This working method not only keeps the flexibility of manual feeding, but also uses automatic parts to improve laminating accuracy and consistency. The working process can be divided into the following steps.

Semi-automatic flute laminator working process

1. Paper Preparation and Feeding

Before production, first adjust the machine according to production requirements and prepare the cut linerboard and corrugated bottom sheet. The linerboard is placed on the feeding table and fed into the machine one sheet at a time by workers. The bottom sheet is automatically fed into the machine by a vacuum suction system, matching the linerboard feeding speed.

2. Bottom Sheet Gluing

After the bottom sheet enters the gluing section, the glue roller applies glue to the surface to be laminated. The glue amount can be adjusted according to the paper material and laminating requirements to avoid applying too much or too little glue. After gluing, the bottom sheet continues moving toward the laminating position.

3. Paper Positioning

The linerboard and the glued bottom sheet enter the positioning section. The front lay positioning system controls the relative positions of the two sheets and aligns them according to the set requirements.

4. Pressing and Finished Board Output

After the two sheets are aligned, they enter the pressing section. The pressure rollers press the linerboard and corrugated bottom sheet together. The laminated board is then sent out by the conveying system for inspection and collection.
